Late last year, Jeremy from our Modern Work team took part in some Volunteer Time Out, and shared this account of his time.

I began assisting one of our local community engagements across the road from our home run by the Salvation Army named Lakes Salvos Food Market.

Our local MP supported the project with a grant through the Community Building Partnership program, allowing those doing it tough to come in and get free or low-cost groceries provided by OzHarvest each week.

As part of the weekly setup, volunteers and the paid Salvos staff help unpack, label, and sort items on the off days when the shop isn't running, and greet and assist those coming into the store when the shop is open.
