Do More Good

Volunteering with Professional Advantage

Paul from our Sydney office utilised his Volunteer Time Out (VTO) to assist and act as the life saver for the swimming carnival at his son's school.

"It was interesting to see the disparity of the swimming skill level between the children where even age and gender did not play much of a factor."

"There was a five year old that was an absolute gun! I later found out they are a state swimmer. Then there were some that didn't participate at all, and others that despite not being able to swim gave it a go with a pool noodle and kick board."

Unfortunately Paul did have to jump into the pool a few times, but luckily not for any major incidents and instead just to help some lesser-abled swimmers reach the end and to participate in the parent child relay.

"I was made a proud father when my son and his relay team came second. Especially as he decided he didn't want to take part, and I was able to mentor him on the importance of participation and not letting your team down, and then cheer him on."
