The University of Queensland Union (UQU) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of the students at the University of Queensland. Based in St Lucia, the organisation offers a comprehensive suite of services including legal advice, visa assistance, academic support, help with financial hardship, and social events. These services are offered free of charge, ensuring every student can thrive academically and personally.

UQU began partnering with Professional Advantage (PA) when they transferred their Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central support to PA over a year ago.

Subsequently, Jason reached out to past colleagues, employers, and previous partners he had worked with for their experience and advice. From these discussions, he was recommended and introduced to PA.

“PA provide the exact level and quality of service that I need.”

The service and support they have received for their Business Central solution has surpassed what they initially expected thanks to the Professional Advantage Client Care Program and Release Management service.

“The Release Management service and how that is run is just fantastic.”

The Release Management service is a structured approach to managing the two major releases from Microsoft each year. During a previous release, UQU had experienced issues due to third-party extensions and received little support from their partner at the time.

“Due to the previous update issues, the Release Management team were incredibly attentive and dedicated to working with us and making sure there were no issues this time. They really care and do everything to make sure we as clients get all the information and reminders needed.”

You can read more about why UQU chose to transfer their Business Central support to PA, and the experience they have had in their Client Story.

At PA, we pride ourselves on the relationship we build with our clients and the information and resources we provide, something incredibly appreciated by UQU.

“We value the communications we receive from PA, the regular check-ins, and the community resources like the Professional Advantage Community for Business Central Users.”

We provide regular value-add resources for our clients including:

  • Informative expert-led webinars.
  • User communities, like the Professional Advantage Community for Business Central Users.
  • Newsletters, such as BC Vision for our Business Central clients.
  • Topical blogs.
  • Solution specific support, such as Business Central Release Management.
  •  Announcements and news, including Microsoft updates.

UQU also identify the importance of their Client Management Team (CMT) to their relationship with PA and their business progression.

“Our CMT are very engaged with our business and how we like to work. They suggest solutions and processes that may benefit or be of interest to us without specifically trying to sell. This is how we discovered Solver.”

UQU had a reporting solution in place but were not happy with its performance. PA had mentioned Solver to UQU prior to the organisation identifying a need to upgrade. It was only when UQU began to seriously think about a solution upgrade that they came back to PA.

“Without the regular communications and engaged relationship that we have with PA, we wouldn’t have heard about Solver, and I would have had to complete significant research myself on the best reporting and budgeting solution for us. Knowing Solver was a solution used by a partner we trust made such a difference to the decision-making process.”

These regular communications also include follow-ups.

“With a busy inbox, it is possible to miss an email. PA don’t assume that a lack of response means I’m not interested. They follow up and are continuously nurturing our relationship, not simply waiting for our team to reach out to them when we need things.”

PA identifies the importance of building a trusting relationship with our clients, and are regularly humbled by the feedback and appreciation we receive.

“PA has become a partner that I know I can rely upon. Previously I have often worked autonomously and have had to be self-sufficient, but with PA I feel like I am working as part of a team.”
Jason Cheung, Finance Manager, University of Queensland Union.

“We take great joy in helping our clients, like Jason at UQU, succeed with their systems. Their success is our success, and we value such partnerships.”
